So, this is quite a surprise, and honestly, it’s pretty cool.
FNATIC, one of the leading esports brands in the world, have announced that E3 attendees will have the chance to try out for their Fortnite team. The team will be hosting tryouts, with their Fortnite team captain, Ettnix, watching over the would be challengers.
FNATIC Co-Owner, Patrik “cArn” Sattermon, said, “As always with FNATIC, we’re looking to recruit the world’s best. By running this experiment at E3, which is the first time we’ve done anything like this as an organization, we are providing fans with the opportunity to showcase their ability on Fortnite and have some fun.”
It’s a nice surprise, but also a pretty smart move on FNATIC’s part, considering that Epic Games has recently announced plans to offer a prize pot of $100m for future Fortnite competitions. The prize fund in question, has been set aside, to start later in the year, for the first year of competitive play.
Attendees can stop by the DXRacer booth (Booth #2513) on the E3 show floor, to take their shot at glory.
The schedule for the Fortnite tryouts are listed below:
- Tuesday June 12th, 5pm-7pm
- Wednesday June 13th, 12pm-2pm
- Thursday June 14th, 3pm-5pm
It’s a first come, first served event, where players can attempt to win prizes from FNATIC’s latest gear products. Kills will be worth more than match wins: 5 kills will earn players a mousepad, 10 kills will get them a FNATIC Gear Clutch 2 mouse. The players that have the best performance of each day will get a FNATIC Gear Streak Keyboard. All in all, not a bad time.
