Squenix Announces Final Fantasy XV Pocket

Early this morning, Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition, for Android, iOS and Windows 10 devices.

Basically, it’s a mobile retelling of the Final Fantasy XV story that has already graced consoles late last year.  The mobile game features all of the main characters and story of the console version game, allowing gamers to enjoy the story wherever they go.

The story is told across 10 episodes, which will all be available at launch, with the first episode available to download for free.  I’m assuming this mean DUN DUN DUNNNN, MICRO-TRANSACTIONS.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by it, it’s the only way mobile games make any money, but no word on the pricing structure yet.

I’m kinda torn on it.  I did enjoy FFXV, and I enjoy mobile games that are a little more RPG like, and not some card game or tower defense game.  However, I feel like they could put this time and effort into more story DLC for the main console game.  As long as the costs for each mini episode are not outrageous, maybe it will be at least entertaining for when you’re on the go.

Here’s some more screenshots for the mobile game.
