Starting today, (May 26th – May 30th), Degica’s RPG Maker MV is available to try for FREE on Steam for the long weekend.

RPG Maker gives everyone of all backgrounds the chance to dip their toes into making their own game, and with the Free Steam Weekend, now’s a pretty good chance to take advantage of it.

RPG Maker has been around for several iterations and has been used in schools to help teach children the basic concepts of game design, and is also used by professional developers in the Indie game realm.

I’ve personally always wanted to try out RPG Maker, but have never bit the bullet when it’s been on sale previously, mostly due to my severe lack of attention span.  I hope to definitely find a few minutes to try it out this weekend, and see how it goes.  I don’t expect to make anything amazing with it over the course of 3 days, but it would be nice to get in and get a feel for how it works.
