Over the weekend at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest in Las Vegas, Square Enix revealed the highly anticipated second expansion for the game, titled Stormblood.
The trailer showcases the Warrior of Light honing his newest skills during a spar with a mysterious woman in red, atop a colossal stone statue, while resistance warriors prepare for battle below.
As is usual with most MMORPG expansions, Stormblood will include new jobs, a revamped battle system, new areas to explore, all new raids and dungeons, as well as an increased level cap up to Level 70.
Another important note to take away from the Stormblood release, is that it marks the end of PS3 support for FFXIV players. During the keynote presentation, Square Enix detailed plans of a free upgrade service process to the PS4 versoin, to allow PS3 players to transition over.
More information will be shared at the Tokyo Fan Festival in December, as well as the European Fan Festival in February.
The expansion is slated for a Summer 2017 release.
