Sooo, I don’t know how your Monday is going, but for many of us, we just got a kick in the pants that we’ve been waiting for, for nearly 25 years.
This morning, publisher Dotemu, along with developers Guard Crush Games and Lizardcube, announced Streets of Rage 4, with that pretty dope trailer.
The trailer shows off some beautiful hand-drawn visuals from the same team that brought us the 2017 remake of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap. Streets of Rage 4 continues on with the same classic gameplay as the original trilogy, but also introduces some new mechanics, a fresh story and a whole lotta dangerous stages with a lot of asses to kick.
The announcement also teases the return of a thumping soundtrack that goes great with bashing in faces and chomping chicken, which was another reason the SEGA classic was so popular. Players will once again get to play as series protagonists, Axel and Blaze, and can fight single player, or play co-op in some form, to clean up the streets with a friend.
No release date was announced yet, nor was a list of platforms given, but hopefully we’ll find out more soon. More pictures below.
